Up early for the 6 hour trip to Mumbil. The first long drive for Flo and she drove like a dream. As she is being run in it probably took a bit longer and I’m also still getting used to a different vehicle.
It was good to meet familiar as well as new faces over the weekend. Planning continues for the 4 week journey to Exmouth. Lots of talking and sharing of experiences. Our shared meal on Saturday night was an amazing assortment of dishes and too much food. Sitting around the huge open fire kept us warm on a very cold evening. I slept really well in the van. Woke to -4°
On the way home, as I travelled over the Blue Mountains, 3 of the ladies in their vans caught up with me and we became a mini tagalong for about 15ks. They were travelling faster then me so they soon disappeared ahead. I made good time and was home by 17:00
I did some unpacking and was going to pick up Van from Paul’s house. Ian rang and said that he would bring her over which he did.
The next trip was to Comboyne to spend the weekend with Lynda and Ethel. Sharon came with me, she managed to get the Monday off work. So another early start. I picked her up and she guided me through to the Harbour Bridge entry through the CBD. I thought I would use my newly acquired ETag but no, it doesn’t register on the way over.
We settled in for the long drive. Still windy weather. Some of the gusts caught us, the van having a bigger surface area. Finally arrived about 15:00 to a warm house and stayed near the fire most of the weekend.

We left Comboyne 09:30. Sharon had a drive on the way back. We picked a good time to travel as the traffic was relatively light. The wind wasn’t as bad either. We took an alternate route back through Sydney and I didn’t get to use the ETag after all.
I dropped Sharon off at her place 17:00. Unloaded her lemons, bags etc. and forgot her avocados!!!
I got home about 18:10. Ian had brought Van home.
Unpacked, tea, shower and an early night. Slept well.
Flo has done 1997.3Ks now. Very, very happy with my purchase. Good times ahead.
